We are thrilled to announce that Bentstix Hockey Club will be officially joining the Sydney WorldPride festival 2023.

Throughout this festival Bentstix will host a wide range of interstate and international competitors and spectators as we put on an exciting three day international tournament from 22nd -  24th February 2023.

This is a huge opportunity to showcase the amazing game of Hockey to the Global LGBTIQA+ community and along with our friends at
Hockey NSW who we are partnering with in the hope to encourage and promote inclusive hockey participation for many years to come!

Sydney WorldPride 2023

It's time to gather, dream, and amplify in Sydney 2023!

We are so excited that Sydney will be the host city of WorldPride 2023! From the 15th of February until the 5th of March the whole world will come together in our favourite city to unite and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community!

Over these weeks, there are various parties, events, festivals, and much more under the theme: Gather. Dream. Amplify.

Questions

When is the Hockey SWP tournament taking place? 

Three full days of competition from Wednesday 22nd February to Friday 24th February 2023.

What are the likely costs of this tournament? 

Final costs are still to be confirmed. However, we are aiming to keep the cost to enter the tournament in line with other Pink Hockey tournaments which would be roughly $150 per player (~161 NZD/ 84 GBP/ 101 EUR)

We aim to have final costs known by July 2022.

What is the tournament structure?

There will be both a women’s competition and a men’s competition.

There will be a round robin tournament with finals on the last day. 

Exact details are still being finalised.

Which competition should I enter? 

Players can enter the tournament (Women’s or Men’s competition) they feel most aligns to their gender identity. 

Entries will be live from Mid-2022 but in the meantime please submit an expression of interest to help us plan ahead.
